The prize of the Moscow Kurdish Film Festival is called the "Golden Sun" and is a solar disk with 21 rays of equal size and shape, in the center of which is a reel. The sun is an ancient religious and cultural symbol of the Kurds.

Prizes "Golden Sun" are awarded to films of the competition in four categories:

 

• Best Feature Film

• Best Documentary

• Best Fiction Short Film

• Best Documentary Short Film
