HISHAM ZAMAN
Hisham Zaman was born in 1975 in Iraqi Kurdistan. He graduated from the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer in 2004 and has directed several award-winning short films. In particular, the film "Father", which received more than 20 national and international awards, and "Winter Land" (2007) was awarded the Grand Prix Jose Giovanni at the International Festival in Outrance, France. Zaman's two drama films Before the Snow Falls (2013 Iraq, Germany, Norway) and A Letter to the King (2014 Norway) won the Dragon Awards for Best Norwegian Film at the Gothenburg Film Festival and many other international awards.
ABOUT THE FILM
A 16-year-old boy leaves his native village in Kurdistan for Europe in search of his sister. It is his duty as the eldest man in the family to bring her back after she escaped from her own wedding. Traveling through Europe challenges his views of the world and life.
